Mama Goose really is as good as a children's consignment store gets. There's lots of room, places for kids to play, and tons of stuff to buy, used and new.  They are very picky about the stuff they except, so you will only find high quality stuff on the racks.  Everything is nicely organized, and there is something for everyone from pregnant mams all the way up to preteens.

For Ithaca, this is your best bet on used children's items, but I visited my hometown and had the absolute best experiences ever.  I filled a large box with clothes and paid 20.00 to ship it home and, even adding shipping in, I still saved a ton of money compared to what I would have spent at Mama Goose.  Those shops were all independently owned and still were able to make a profit by selling things at a fraction of what Mama Goose charges.  We're going back to those stores in December to stock up again...

The other thing I resent about Mama Goose is that they make buying a coat an 'event' that requires you to stand in a line that goes halfway around a block.  Congrats on the marketing frenzy they create with that, but I will never line up like that for a used kid's coat,  Come on.  Just put the coats out like a normal store instead of creating a this crazy event for a coat.

The Mecca for everything kid related in Ithaca. Very well managed, extremely fair prices and they are careful to only buy only good condition, cute clothes. No junk cluttering up the shelves. They give good value on trade credit too. More than once I have gone in to Mama Goose looking for a very specific item- a high chair that clips to a table, a certain kid's book, size 6 girls winter boots, a cheap working baby monitor- and that exact item was there at the right price. They carry new kids shoes too, cute comfortable shoes that are not stiff plastic. Thank you Mama Goose, all mamas should be so lucky to have such an awesome store in there town!

Pretty over priced.  When you ask for something off because something is stained or whatever, it is a giant ordeal as no one can seem to do anything about it.  Bad location always a hassle to get in and out espically with kids.  Took so long to check out I came out and had a parking ticket (4 minutes over meter!).  I've had it, off to better consignment stores for us.

History

Established in 2003.

Mama Goose began as a small 850 square foot store that looked a bit like a ginger bread house. Due to the fabulous response from our customers and sellers, we quickly outgrew our space. In June 2008, we moved one block west and quadrupled our size. We have done extensive renovations to both the exterior and interior of our building and love our  lively West End neighborhood. Find us at the corner of State and Corn, between The State Street Diner and Gimme Coffee.

In May of 2010, we opened our sister store, Mimi's Attic which is right next door and carries secondhand furniture, housewares and home decor.

Canada Goose: Luxury Jackets and Outerwear for Mountaineers

Canada Goose has continually evolved since its founding in 1957 without losing sight of their origin - practical and functional outdoor wear. When Sam Tick, a Polish factory worker who immigrated to Canada, saw a need for warm outdoor apparel in the Canadian outdoor industry he created Metro Sportswear Ltd. in Toronto selling wool vests, raincoats, and snowmobile suits. Using the superior thermal qualities of down and an innovative filling mechanism, the company rebranded as "Snow Goose" and started producing the highest quality outdoor sportswear around. A partnership with police, Canadian Rangers, and municipal services earned them a reputation for quality and warmth while allowing them to expand into European distribution. Over the next three decades the company saw tremendous growth and re-branded as Canada Goose while gaining acclaim for outfitting Arctic adventurers and "Goose People" with tough and warm gear ready for the harshest environments.

While many competitors have moved their manufacturing overseas, Canada Goose maintains their integrity and quality by producing their goods in Canada and supporting Canadian communities and workers. Canada Goose is now known worldwide for brilliantly warm, functional, and beautiful designs that keep adventurers and city folk alike warm and protected from the elements. They have become the standard "must have" gear for industries and groups all over the world, including the United States Arctic Program. Every year, the Expedition Parka (M/W), Kensington Parka (W), and Chateau Parka (M/W) are in high demand, especially as temperatures drop! Canada Goose has found lasting success by adopting new material technologies and design improvements to improve on what they already do best - making winter coats and outdoor gear that will keep you warm for years to come.

 Questions & Tips

Q: How do I clean my Canada Goose jacket or parka?

Some Canada Goose jackets can only be dry cleaned, but to ensure the correct cleaning method, follow the directions on the inside label of your garment.

Parkas: When your down-filled parka requires cleaning, it is important that you take it to a reputable dry cleaner and that you do not machine wash it. Machine-washing your parka will void the warranty. If your parka has a removable fur option, be sure to remove the fur ruff before dry cleaning.

Please note: If you have a small stain on your parka, you can spot-wash with a mild bleach-free detergent and water.

Lightweights & Shells: Your lightweight down jacket or shell should be machine-washed in cold water using a bleach-free detergent or can be hand washed in a large sink or tub. Please make sure that all the soap is washed out of the garment before drying. Do not dry clean and do not tumble dry. Simply hang your jacket to dry and iron on a cool setting, only if necessary.

Q: Are you an Authorized Retailer of Canada Goose?
Yes, we are an Authorized Retailer of Canada Goose. To confirm, please see their website's Find a Retailer page and search for Nolensville, TN.

This warranty does not cover any repairs needed due to accidents, improper care, negligence, or normal wear and tear. Please note, this warranty is void if the inside garment tags are removed. For any damage not covered under the Warranty, Canada Goose may offer to repair the damage for a reasonable charge. If such an offer is made, they will have to discuss the warranty claim with the consumer, prior to any repairs being made.
